String Empty to Null

Google Guava is a java library with lot of utilities and reusable components. This requires the library guava-10.0.jar to be in classpath. The following example shows using Strings.emptyToNull() API. It returns NULL if the given string is EMPTY otherwise returns the original string.

File Name  :
com/bethecoder/tutorials/guava/base_tests/EmptytoNullTest.java
Author  :  Sudhakar KV
Email  :  [email protected]

package com.bethecoder.tutorials.guava.base_tests;

import com.google.common.base.Strings;

public class EmptytoNullTest {

  /**
   @param args
   */
  public static void main(String[] args) {
    String str = "";  //null
    str = Strings.emptyToNull(str);
    System.out.println("String : " + str);
  }
}

It gives the following output,
String : null
