Invoke Static Method

Apache Commons Lang 3.0 is a java library with lot of utilities and reusable components. This requires the library commons-lang3-3.0.1.jar to be in classpath. The following example shows using MethodUtils.invokeStaticMethod() API.

File Name  :
com/bethecoder/tutorials/commons_lang/tests/reflections/InvokeStaticMethodTest.java
Author  :  Sudhakar KV
Email  :  [email protected]

package com.bethecoder.tutorials.commons_lang.tests.reflections;

import java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException;

import org.apache.commons.lang3.reflect.MethodUtils;

public class InvokeStaticMethodTest {

  /**
   @param args
   */
  public static void main(String[] argsthrows NoSuchMethodException,
    IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException,
    InstantiationException {

    Integer value = (Integer)MethodUtils.invokeStaticMethod(
        Integer.class, "parseInt""123456");
    System.out.println(value);

    Double d = (DoubleMethodUtils.invokeStaticMethod(
        Double.class, "parseDouble""123456.78");
    System.out.println(d);
  }

}

It gives the following output,
