Remove End

Apache Commons Lang 3.0 is a java library with lot of utilities and reusable components. This requires the library commons-lang3-3.0.1.jar to be in classpath. The following example shows using StringUtils.removeEnd() API. It removes the substring from the source string if it ends with substring otherwise returns the source string.

File Name  :
com/bethecoder/tutorials/commons_lang/tests/strings/RemoveEndTest.java
Author  :  Sudhakar KV
Email  :  [email protected]

package com.bethecoder.tutorials.commons_lang.tests.strings;

import org.apache.commons.lang3.StringUtils;

public class RemoveEndTest {

  /**
   @param args
   */
  public static void main(String[] args) {

    System.out.println(StringUtils.removeEnd(null, ".12"));
    System.out.println(StringUtils.removeEnd("999.12"".12"));
    System.out.println(StringUtils.removeEnd("999.1234"".12"));
    System.out.println(StringUtils.removeEnd("8888.1234"".1234"));
  }

}

It gives the following output,
null
999
999.1234
8888
