How to read file content as byte array

Jodd is an open-source java library with lot of reusable components and feature rich utilities. This requires the library jodd-3.3.2.jar to be in classpath. The following example shows how to use FileUtil.readBytes() API. It gets the contents of entire file as a byte array.

File Name  :
com/bethecoder/tutorials/jodd/io/ReadBytesFromFileTest.java
Author  :  Sudhakar KV
Email  :  [email protected]

package com.bethecoder.tutorials.jodd.io;

import java.io.File;
import java.io.IOException;

import jodd.io.FileUtil;

public class ReadBytesFromFileTest {

  /**
   @param args
   @throws IOException
   */
  public static void main(String[] argsthrows IOException {

    byte [] content = FileUtil.readBytes("C:/abcd.txt");
    System.out.println(new String(content));

    System.out.println();

    byte [] content2 = FileUtil.readBytes(new File("C:/abcd.txt"));
    System.out.println(new String(content2));
  }

}

It gives the following output,
ABCD
ABCD
ABCD
ABCD

ABCD
ABCD
ABCD
ABCD
